This award, which has been endowed by the publishing house EDITION Lammerhuber has been conferred for the first time at the LUMIX Festival 2012. The prize honoures the reportage or series of the Festival that tells the most impressive story of everyday life.

The Lammerhuber Photography Award underlines the philosophy of the LUMIX Festival, which is that the aim of humanist photojournalism should be to examine all facets of life. The prize has been endowed with € 5,000.

The photographer and publisher Lois Lammerhuber is one of the most outstanding personalities in photography in his home country of Austria. Aside from several prizes for his work in photography, he has also won many awards for his photo books over the past few years. In 2013 Edition Lammerhuber has been announced Best Publishing House for Photobooks at FEP European Photo Book of the Year Awards.

LUMIX multimedia award

Panasonic also donates this year the LUMIX Multimedia Award including prize money of 5,000 euros for the best journalistic multimedia production. The chance to create another narrative layer beyond the photographs seems to be used by more and more photographers.

A preselection of the best multimedia stories is shown at the festival. A jury will then choose the one work which receives the LUMIX Multimedia Award on the final party on Saturday, 22nd of June 2014.
